Got a question? Forget Yahoo! Answers, Just ASK! APSense.
Today one of my friends asked me a question... That’s not unusual in itself and I feel honoured to be the person they turn to when they want to know something or tap into my specialized knowledge.
As regular readers of Likemindedcog know, I’m a full-time Internet entrepreneur, networker and parent to a parent. It’s also true that in order for me to succeed at making a full-time Internet income, I first had to go learn new skills and become an information sponge, soaking up every last drop I could find by asking dumb questions here, there and everywhere. I’d hang out in forums, take the “guru gang’s” Web 2.0 information, disseminate it and rebuild it in my quest for the Holy Grail …and I’m still seeking fresh answers to ever more questions!
Speaking of questions, “where do you go to find the answers to yours?”
It’s a secret!
Actually, the first thing I normally do is search the “big three” search engines to see what answers/links they can yield. Depending on what I am searching for, I sometimes even make a quick scan of Wikipedia, Britannica and Dictionary to broaden my search ideas.
Next, I quickly scan the keyword tags of my 1000′s of bookmarks before becoming absorbed doing deeper research elsewhere.
Side note: I keep all my bookmarks neatly filed and tagged using the free social bookmarking service Netvouz.com They’re not as well known as the more popular bookmarking services, but the big plus for me was simple filing and being able to find all my broken links in a click. Try doing that manually when your bookmarks are well in the 4 digits!
By now, if I still haven’t found the answers I’m looking for, I then begin searching popular forums to find related questions and topics. Sometimes I find all the answers I need in a comment thread. However, there are occasions when I post my questions on an Answer Site in the hope that a few people out there will help me find the answers I’m looking for.
So what’s an Answer Site?
Well, an Answer Site is a place where you go to share and discuss your knowledge with other people by asking and answering questions. You can post a question on any topic, and there’s no such thing as a dumb question!
What is Yahoo! Answers?
Yahoo! answers is currently the most frequented place to ask questions and get real answers from real people. It’s both fun and educational, you can ask questions on any topic ranging from the serious to the not so serious. And when you know an answer, you can help others by giving answers to their questions. It’s all about sharing knowledge – what you know and what you want to know – including the problems and concerns about your niche market so you can address those questions in your sales letter, articles or other marketing tools.
Wait! There’s more… Yahoo! Answers and other answer sites are perfect places to build your credibility as an expert by supplying quality information that you provide in your answers.
#Tip: Start by searching for questions in your niche market by including relevant keywords, and gain your market’s trust with your expert answers. Always remember to INCLUDE YOUR SIGNATURE LINK so that they can find your site.
