Post-it to do listYowzer! I worked through Monday, putting in more than 10 hours graft if you include the 2 hours before the clock struck midnight on Sunday night (I do!). Of course, there are other times that I work a total of 5-10 hours in an entire week. So I don’t complain compressing my work ethic time into one marathon session, especially if it means I can be out and about enjoying the best of what life has to offer for the next week or so.

It was during one of these extended periods of relaxation that I started to reflect on the direct impact starting my own blog has had on the growth of my MLM energy drink business. Actually, I’m involved with more than one MLM program, but that’s a story for another time.

Setting up LikeMindedCog has proved to be one of the best ongoing time investments I have ever made. I could kick myself for not putting it on my “To Do” list sooner. Sure, I’ve set up my own branded attraction marketing sites telling the “my story” before (yawn!), but who reads those from begining to end unless there’s a powerful motivation carrot, the WIIFM (what’s in it for me) factor.

I like to read other marketing success stories to inspire me to go do more, achieve more and earn more, but I don’t like to waste precious time reading things unless I know I’m likely to benefit by learning something of value, or something that could help my mlm energy drink business advance another step towards my dream.

It was after reading several inspiring mlm blogs that I finally made the effort to set up my own blog, and then vowed to share Act and the mlm energy drink opportunity with everyone …and of course sharing marketing tips along with the disasters by which we all learn from.

And here’s where things got really interesting and exciting…

Unlike with a static website, my blog allows me to provide valuable content on a frequent basis, I guess you could say I am giving away valuable marketing content before I ever ask for something in return. I do much the same thing in the offline world.

Online marketing is always being preached as the “Holy Grail” but you can also make a lot more by harnessing offline marketing techniques as well. As I’m running an mlm energy drink business from the comfort of my home, I am able to give away Free Act samples before I need ask if they’d be interested in taking a look at my mlm opportunity.Act Biz Flyer

Here’s an example of one of my offline mini flyer that I hand out to everyone or I leave everywhere I go.

So, since setting up my blog here’s what I have found…

Posting on my blog on a consistent basis, getting links to posts from other popular websites, social business networks and blogs has allowed visitors to find me, and it is slowly winning the respect of search engines, and of course Google (Yahoo, Microsoft and Technoratti are just as important!) :-)

Now, when Google’s spiders come crawling and like the contents of my blogs, it will list them very high in the search results, especially when someone types in keywords related to a particular article or blog that I have written.

This all translates into a leads and traffic bonanza for me! It’s a highly effective way to generate tons of free traffic, and in time, thousands of quality leads for my mlm energy drink business. Much cheaper than burning cash on Adwords (Yahoo and Microsoft are performing better for me anyway!) and then having to try convince strangers to join you. People reading your blogs get to know you as a person first, if you share a common interest or they like what you are doing, they’ll be in touch soon enough by posting comments or breaking the ice with an Instant Message or email.

There are no short cuts, it still takes time, but the key is to be consistent. Post a blog at least 2 or 3 times a week or more frequently if time permits.

Eventually, you’ll have so many visitors commenting on your posts and opting in to your list, you won’t know what to do with yourself. The result will be a steady stream of new prospects and consistent downline growth.

What’s Next On Your “To Do” List?

So, if reading this has now inspired you to take up blogging, here are a few SIMPLE STEPS to take in order to launch and start posting on your very own blog within minutes from now…

1) Register and host a domain name. I use GoDaddy.com for buying domains (not their hosting package) as this allows me to better brand myself (a carefully chosen name is both easy to remember and SEO friendly if you choose keywords in the domain name).

For web hosting, Kiosk meets all my needs needs as it gives me great control over my content and branded email addresses, but above all it is a real professional service with a full featured cPanel and site builder software. You can sign-up with Kiosk for only $1 to check out the quality of their service, but I’d jump straight in for the Platinum Package, and at less than $30 per month is a great deal for the features you get. :-)

Sidenote: If you just want a family or hobby site then a free hosting service is all you need. But if you want to make money from your site (and have full control) you need to be professional. While professional hosting may cost some money, the services you get are far more advanced and you don’t get your site cluttered with web host advertising. Click here for a summary of Kiosk’s features.

There are plenty of alternative hosting companies besides Kiosk, Hostgator for instance offers a similar service, but at a more budget price. Of course you don’t get all the additional cPanel features like you do with Kiosk or even a 3 seat webinar conference/whiteboard center included within the package.

Kiosk also offers you the chance to make another “residual income” stream with their 4×10 forced matrix affiliate program. With Kiosk everyone involved makes earnings, so you could end up getting your hosting for FREE anyway.

2) Install a blog software such as WordPress.org. Following their famous 5 minutes Install instructions will get you set up in no time. But even if that all sounds too techie for you, send a ticket to Support who will help you.

3) Login to your blog admin, and post an article with useful information. Use the right keywords in your title and body content. (Tip: Try to make your headlines need to LEAP off the page!). You can find good keywords using a free tool like KeywordTracker. You can also place a link to your capture page at the end of every post. In time, you’ll be flooded by leads providing you put in the elbow grease at the start.

4) Start promoting your blog by placing it’s link in discussion forums, posting comments on other blogs, social bookmarking sites such StumbledUpon, Reddit, Shoutwire and the dozens of others out there.

To your success! :-)
